The story behind the quilts

My dear friend and co-hort in crime, Sue,  gave me the John Deere fabric and farm panel before she moved to Nevada.  It sat around here for a couple of years and I finally planned out a simple quilt block for William, who is an avid John Deere fan.  Two years later the quilt is done and on his bed.  his comment when he curled up under it, "my quilt smells just like grandma".

The pink quilt was made for my sweet, patient grand-daughter Katie, my Sun Bonnet Sue block won a challenge and I received all the blocks that my good friends and fellow quilters on "Justquilting" entered in the challenge.  Katie and I did a few more embroidered blocks to fill in the spaces needed and 2 yrs. later she is sleeping under it.  She loved her new quilt and said "Now I have my heirloomm".

I was a little sad that they left my house but that went away when I saw their happy faces with their quilts made just for them.  Life as grandma is good!!
