and I surprised myself with all I got done this afternoon after spending the morning trying to load my tax software on the desk top. It wouldn't go, so tomorrow I will take it in to the Geeks to work their magic on it. I did find my Dresden fan ruler for the quilt I want to get done by Easter. Tomorrow I will be cutting and sewing the rows to add to the Asian panel I bought. I also found two panels that I want to embroider the motifs, going to work them up using a whole bunch of Pearle cotton I want to use if I can find the right colors.The sewing room is looking good with everything in its place and actually can see the cutting map. Now that's progress!!!
Short message tonight, don't know what's going on but I feel strange. Red in the face and my face feels like it's burning up but no fever. It's Benedryl time, then night night time for me. HOpe it's nothing more.

End of a good day
Lunch bunch today, bought some really cool Asian fabric, way out of the box for me. I'm going to clean up the sewing room tomorrow and start my new project. Ufo's can wait!!!! I want to finish this by Easter, wish me luck!!!!
Ihave a couple of "gotta finish" projects but they are so close to being done they should be finished this weekend.
George starts driving the vote mobile for 3 1/2 weeks starting Monday, I am going to use that time as a quilt marathon, dinners in the crock pot and just do quick house blessings so I don't have to start naming the dust balls.
Picked the lap top up from Best Buy this afternoon and it's working like a champ. I need to load my quilting design programs back on it but that won't take long and it'll be a lot better working with it now. The Geeks also loaded my tax software and it loaded just fine. Just need to change some of the settings I prefer and she'll be as good as new. Hooray!!!

Fun Saturday
Took Emily and Katie shopping this morning, we were gone until afternoon. Emily got some new running shoes (she's in a Triathlon next Sunday), she also is taking a class for working with mentally challenged kids but has to be interviewed for the class to get accepted into it. She wanted a nice outfit to wear so we went to Von Mar, she got a nice black skirt, bright pink blouse and grey tweed blazer. The blazer has a cute little ruffle in the back to add a little life to the jacket. She really looked nice in it, will wear black tights and little black flats. She's also applied for some pt jobs in the area and is going to wear the outfit to those interviews as well. She's been sitting for a family with a Downs Syndrome child for about 3 years and really likes caring for him. If she gets into the class she will have hands on training and help a challenged child with reading, math, games and recess, kind of like a teacher's aid. It will help her decide if she wants to go to college for a career in this area.
Katie got some new inserts for her running shoes, she has problems with painful ankles when she runs if she doesn't wear them. She also got some shorts, t shirts and 2 cute skirt and tops sets that she's going to wear at the next level of the history/science competition. She got first place at her school for her project and is moving on to the next level that will be held at Northern Illinois University, if she ends up in the top three there she will go on to Nationals. Both girls also got $50 phone cards for their phones.
We had a great morning then went to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes then home to show all the goodies to their parents.
Got home and dh was feeling better so we went out for dinner with friends and back to their house to play some cards, got home about 7 and we're chilling out.

Finally back
and focusing on things again. Funerals over with and I hope that's it for a while, Dr's. appts. over with for now and I'm ready to get quilting again. It's been over a month since I've done any quilting, bummer.
Went to the Eye Dr. yesterday and have decided not to get a prosthetic eye. There is only one place in Illinois that makes them, so what do I do if that one closes. The prosthetic would have to be removed every few hours and be cleaned, the remaining globe is painful to pressure so don't know what the pressure of the insert would do and I'm not going to have the globe removed. No surgery for me if I can at all avoid it. George agreed with my decision, so it is what it is for me.
I am going to focus on my UFOs today and get one out to get it finished and maybe even start a new project. I really need a quilting fix. George has gone over to Terry's to keep working on her kitchen. He has the cabinet doors fixed now he's going to take up the old floor and get ready to put down a pretty new oak floor. They have a new stove coming on Fri. so he has to disconnect the old one and get it ready to haul out but needs to finish the floor before the new one can be put in place.
Kathy's tenants have moved in and are very happy with the place, hope this all works out for everyone. It will remove the expenses of the townhouse for Kathy.

Dr. visit
for both of us today with the Dermatologist and we both had to have biopsies again. Will find out next week the results. Then I went to lunch bunch and had a really nice afternoon of sewing. I made 24 (6') blocks for a bom swap.
Kathleen signed a lease yesterday for tenants in her townhouse, would have rather seen it sold but that isn't going to happen until we are in a real economic recovery instead of the cheer leader in chief's pretend recovery. She still doesn't have a job and Mike's place of employment just announced they are going to be laying off 500 employees. Yup sounds like a freaking economic recovery to me. NOT!!!!
