I had to take a picture of my little Christmas tree and candles that are sitting on the pretty mini table runner from my gmttwss.  It looks so cheerful.  I'm a happy recipient.....for those of you that don't know what gmtt....means it's the acronym for "get me through the winter secret sis".

I decided if I posted these photos of my creative world that has turned into a small replica of a landfill  I would be so embarrassed that I would clean it up and out.  I can't work in chaos so I will spend the day de-cluttering this room so I can mess it up all over again.

Here are the 4 table runners left after Kathy and Robin picked there's out.  I tried to do a close up to show the decorative stitch but it doesn't show too well.  I decided not to do the yoyo flowers, didn't look right to me.

Kathy hard at work.

Our hardworking hostess and cook.  Meal was awesome!!!

Kathy's pretty table setting for Thanksgiving.  Had a lovely day and wonderful meal.

Watermelon Rind Pickles

Rind of one large watermelon
1 T. powdered alum
7 c. sugar
2 c. white vinegar
1/4 t. oil of cloves
1/2 t. oil of cinnamon

Use a potato peeler to peel the green outer rind, leave a trace of pink on the inside for color.  Cut rind into bite size pieces, pour cold water mixed with alum over to cover and let sit overnight.  Drain well.  Bring next 4 ingredients to a boil.  Add drained watermelon rind and bring to a boil again.  Set aside until next morning.  Bring mixture to a boil again, set aside.  Third morning bring to a boil again, seal in hot sterilized jars.  (I put the hot jars in a boiling water bath for 15 min.)  Makes about 7 pints.

Had a lovely Thanksgiving day with Kathy, Robin, Mike, Emily, Katie and William at Kathy's house.  It looked so nice and the floors in the living room and dining room looked beautiful.  George sanded them and refinished them.  Played a lot with fur baby Patsy.  She loves company but was one worn out puppy at the end of the day.

I let Kathy and Robin pick out the table runners they wanted, they turned out really nice.  I'll post a picture tomorrow.  I want to make a couple more for teachers' gifts for this  year.

George went over and worked on the Christmas lights for Lou and Terri's yard.  Don't think he's quite finished yet and needs Mike's help, so maybe tomorrow.

I think I spent too much time on my feet the last couple of days and have had a lot of pain in my right foot.  I probably should have called the Dr. today but didn't, if it's not better tomorrow may make a visit with Urgent Care.  The pain is from the arch at the bottom of my foot up the ankle.

It's time for me to call it a day, watch the news and go get in my nice cozy, flannel sheets.  Glad I've got them tonight, it is cold outside.

This project was so much fun and quick.  The hardest part was going to the laundromat to get it washed.  The last time I went to the laundromat it cost .25 to wash and .25 to dry.  It was $2.89 to wash this sucker, talk about sticker shock.  LOL

http://www.abbeylanequilts.com/TABLETOPPER.html

I'm going to play with these table runners today.  The instructions for the 10 min. table topper and a variation to that pattern.  These are going to make fun Christmas presents for friends and family.  That's ok they don't read this anyway.  LOL

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Yesterday I started a new quilt, a Christmas shaggy quilt.  It is so much fun and easy to boot.  I have the panel all quilted and ready to be surrounded by the 48 blocks as soon as I have the layered and quilted.  It's been a long time since I've had a project I can't wait to work on.  I All have it assembled by Wed.  and start cutting the raggedy edges.  I am going to take it to the laundromat after I have all the edges clipped, don't want to gum up my machine or septic with flannel threads.  LOL  The flannel in this kit was beautiful to work on too.  A good project and I deserve it after the d...daisy pillow case.

Monday, October 29, 2012

The wind was blowing pretty good today and is supposed to get a lot stronger through the night.  All the pretty orange and gold leaves are off my maple tree outside my sewing room window.

I went grocery shopping today and picked up a rotisserie chicken boy it tasted good tonight and I have a drumstick and thigh for George's lunch tomorrow.   I'm going to make a mostocholi casserole tomorrow with the leftover turkey breast.  I'll make enough for us and the kids, they have a dinner to go to tomorrow but they can heat it up Wed.

I filled out my absentee ballot today so need to get that out for the mailman tomorrow.  I also have to box up 5 ornament blocks I've made for a swap tomorrow, going to add a little treat for the hostess of the swap.  She's a Star Wars geek and I found cookie cutters and cupcake papers with Star Wars designs on for her.

Well it's jammie time here and watch the football game then beddy bye.

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Here are 2 kits I've finished in Oct. 2012, con't like the daisy pillow case but it is what it is.  Not doing it over.

I've started working on my kit stash, going to get them done or give them away.  Have to decide which ones I like and which ones I don't care for and re-purpose the latter.  It's time to purge my kits, fabrics and books again.  Make room to buy more.  LOL

Went to a pet store with Emily last week and saw 2 puppies ythat stole my heart but George won't relent.  I'm so sad, I so would enjoy the company of a pet but it's not to be I guess.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Had a lousy day yesterday, could only see shadows and outlines.  Very frustrating and depressing.  I did work on my daisy petals only to find out the pattern/instructions were wrong so have to figure out a solution.  I think I may just have to trim them down and  do needle turn applique.

Today was a much better day, I went to the dentist for a cleaning, I have a small cavity and then to exercise.  I have to get to exercise more consistently, I feel so good after I'm done.

Then I came home to try and salvage the daises, think I've fixed the problem.  Petal pattern way too big for the background piece.  So I started trimming them down and pressing under the raw edge for needle turn applique.

Well a Bulls game is on so I'm going to sign off and watch some basketball with George.

Saturday, October 6, 2012

Yup I've been this tired.
Such a sweet block.
I had a lost day today ended up cleaning out the back hall closet looking for an upholstery cleaner and ended up tossing a bunch of old stuff.  No upholstery cleaner but I have some organized shelves and had an empty one.  I filled that with small appliances (muffin maker, pie maker, sandwich maker and a large crock pot), that emptied a shelf on my cook book shelves.  I didn't try to organize those today.  Then I went into the sewing room and one of the chairs would not roll across the floor, tipped it up and the casters were full of threads so I started cleaning them out.  Two hours later George came home for lunch, we had sandwiches and I told him what I was trying to do with the chair.  The thinking man that he is came in with a box cutter and got me rolling again.

I did get the apple core blocks I've made so far ironed, I have 3 of them and enough cores printed probably to make 300 blocks.  We'll see what happens.

After George got the chair moving he went to move the chipmunk trap over to the neighbors but couldn't because he could hear the little buggers running in the downspout.

Then after futzing in the yard he came in and suggested we go to the Casino for dinner.  I never say no to dinner out so off we went.  George had a baked chicken and I had a steak smothered in onions and mushrooms.  Yummy.  Oh and we doubled our gambling allowance.  Yea for us....

I'm tired and ready to call it a day, will watch Pawn Stars for a while then off to beddy bye.  Our bed runner is doing it's job and our feet are so warm and toasty all night.

Friday, October 5, 2012

Here it is finally finished my Drunkard's Path bed runner, this should keep our tootsies nice and warm through the cold nights.

Now I'm off to fix dinner and call it a day.  I have started sewing my apple core blocks, will see how many I get done from what I've printed out so far.  It's so nice to have the stitching lines printed onto the back of my fabric.  Does make hand piecing so much easier to stitch.  I love using Inklingo to print the lines.  Thanks to Linda Franz for developing this product.

Thursday, October 4, 2012

Worked all day on the bed runner, got the binding made and attached to the front.  Spent the better part of the afternoon hand stitching it down to the back of the runner until I just ran out of umph and had to stop to fix dinner, chili, peach cottage cheese salad and hard rolls.

Kathy called she has an interview tomorrow with a Dr's office for a job.  So hoping she gets it, there are 2 openings, receptionist and medical asst.  She's qualified for both but would like to get the ma as it pays more but will take the receptionist.  The jobs also have benefits and boy could she use those.  She is so hard working and reliable.  She's also good with people.  Sure hope this happens for her she can maybe get back on her feet after breaking her arm.

Think I'll try doing a little more on the binding for a while and maybe get it done or not and wait until I'm wide awake in the morning.  Then I need to work on the Christmas present I started at lunch bunch yesterday.  It's a cute pillowcase with a big daisy appliqued to the front and the wide rick rack added.  Very girly girly.

Well off to watch some football, don't know who's playing.

Monday, October 1, 2012

Here are the back yard trimmed blue spruce, George was going to cut them down because there was so much dead stuff on the bottom but he decided to trim them and see if that helped them survive a few more years.  We planted them as little twigs almost 40 yrs. ago.  Thanks to Lou and Terri who came over and helped him, he got so much more done than trying to do it by himself.  They hid the garden before but now we can see the garden from the sun room.  The fire is burning in the garden.  The trimmed the big blue spruce in the front yard too.

Critters are going to have to hide from the coyotes under the border evergreens.  We used to see trails of corn husks from the garden to the 3 evergreens.  Hope this extends the lives of these beautiful trees, they will still be havens for birds.

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Busy day today made tomatoe juice out of the end of the season pick, have 6 more qts. in the freezer.  Cleaned up the kitchen and started beef stew for dinner with the juice that wouldn't fit into a jar  Then I baked a butter pecan bundt cake for our sweet tooths.  Cleaned up the kitchen again, plus mopped the floor.  I am such a messy cook.  Then I went to the sewing room and quilted some more on my bed runner, just might finish the quilting tomorrow.  Then the kids stopped ;by so I could see Emily's dress, very pretty, it just covered her butt and I questioned that but just got and "Oh grandma, it's what they're wearing".  I still had to give her a bad time about it.  If I don't who will?  LOL

Now I have to go get our bed made, I washed the sheets today too.  No wonder I'm tired tonight.  Shees!!!
All dreesed up and ready to party.  They are going to a friends homecoming this weekend and Emily's next weekend.  Have fun kids.  (((hugs)))
Sean and Emily stopped by for a photo before Sean got ready.  Cute couple.

Friday, September 28, 2012

Well even though I had really low vision day today I got the bed runner pinned and started quilting on it.  Going to get it done before it gets cold and we need it.  Yes!!!  I decided to go ahead and quilt it, it is going to be utilitarian quilt so if I goofed up, it is what it is.

Made a big kettle of chicken soup with egg dumplings for us and for the kids.  Katie has strep throat, poor baby, so I thought that would taste good to her.  Also sent a banana cream pie with the soup missing one big piece for my in house pie taster.  Sending the whole pie would have created a really ugly scene around here.  Seeing an 80 yr. old cry is not a pretty picture.

Well I'm off to see what's new on Pintrest and maybe play some games.

Thursday, September 27, 2012

I

I got the last border sewn on the bed runner, the backing and batting cut to size and layered all three layers.  Started pin basting the layers and my vision got really foggy so had to quit.  Hopefully tomorrow morning it will be cleared up, it is a little better tonight so I'm able to play on computer. I hope I can start quilting it tomorrow after I finish pin basting.

Have been searching for a pattern for a fire place screen cover for Lou and Terry to use over their fireplace  in the summer.  I think I've decided on what I want to do.  Eleanor Burns 30's applique flowers and a picket fence border. Will make a nice summer cover for the fp screen. When I finish the bed runner I'll start selecting fabric, I think ecru, beige, tan backgrounds for the 30's bright yellows, red, lavender, etc.

That was my day, all in all a good one.  Kathy called and she's gotten another pt job on the weekends at Joann's, this should help her keep up with her bills.  Every little bit helps.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Got this picture from Mike, Katie atop one of their huge pumpkins.  The vines took over their back yard, Mike thinks some are as much as 300 lbs.
The 6 blocks I've done for the Xmas swap look better with same colors surrounding the center.  They do look like ornaments, I want to put a pretty red ribbon on the top to make it look like it's ready to hang on your tree.

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Here's a picture of the ornament block I'm making for a swap, think I need a darker fabric on the side of the center piece.  Or not.

Sunday, September 9, 2012

Hasn't this been the most beautiful day ever.  Very  low vision day so no sewing but George and I worked in the kitchen washing down the cabinets with Murphy's oil soap on all the wood.  I did the counter tops and shined up the appliances.  George is applying a coat of urathene to all the window sills, they needed it badly.  Things are looking good around here.

I still haven't found the right fabric for the borders on the drunkard's path bed runner.  I really just need to make up my mind and go for it, this isn't going to be a judged quilt, it's just going to be on the foot of our bed.  Shees!!!

Well better get off the computer and go watch some tv with George and enjoy the rest of the evening.  Might be able to see enough to do some hand piecing on the Orange peel top.

Windows done

and I've posted a photo of the clean guest room.  You should have seen it before, no you shouldn't.  That's why I didn't take a picture.  Now I'm ready to relax and do some more sewing.  George has gone of to brother Bill's to work on his new windows, someting was missing.  Going to finish my bed runner for our bed.  Back is killing me, low vision day but all is well in my world, I can see enough to do some sewing.  My Bernina 200 is in the shop for its annual check up so sewing on the +40 yr. old Bernina that still sews like a champ.  I've decided that I need to make some new curtains for the bay window in the living room, the old lace ones are shredding away in spots.  George just called and wants to go visit our money at the Casino so it's off to get cleaned up.

Pictures of our guest room, gess I should have taken a before.

Still hanging in there

been busy but not sewing.  George and I have been cleaning windows, curtains, guest bedroom and anything else that looks like it needs clean up.  We should finish tomorrow, hope I get a call that my beloved Bernina is done with it's annual check up and up date, took it in Monday.  It was working fine but kept getting the pop up that it needed to see a service guy so took it in Mon.  I could get my old one out and might do that tomorrow when all the cleaning is done.  Doing the windows a few weeks early but George is driving the vote mobile in Oct. for early votingg and he'll be one of the 3 election judges.  I will be finishing  the drunkards path bed runner.  It should feel good to have it at the foot of the bed by then.

Found out our sweet Katie's little hamster, peanut, is not  with us.  I know she's heart broken, she loved that little fur ball.

Monday, August 27, 2012

I'm just about ready to assemble my bed runner, I had to print off a couple of pieces for the last block.  I love Inklingo and find that even on a low vision day I can hand piece using my bright light with a magnifying glass floor lamp.  I can see the sewing lines that are printed on the fabric.  Life is good as long as I can stitch.  I'm off now to vacuum the mud room, back hall and kitchen then get the floors scrubbed.  The good thing about low vision, if I don't see it it doesn't exist.  LOL

Sunday, August 12, 2012

I've hand pieced the little arch blocks, they measure 3 1/2" and I assembled them into this 12 1/2" block.  This may be the block that pushes me over the edge. When I've got all the blocks done there will be too many for a table runner, not enough for a lap quilt so we'll see it it's the right size for a small table topper.

Drunkard's Path blocks.

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

Omg I started laying out all the little drunkard's path 3" blocks I've been hand piecing all summer and I think this block is going to push me over the edge.  I've chosen a rather complicated setting for the pieces but I like the look of the block.  I'm going to put the blocks together one at a time.  I don't know how many 3" blocks I'm going to need so printed out more pieces to be stitched together.  I'm doing all the arch's by hand then going to sew the blocks together by machine.  Kind of a hybrid block.

A glorious Sunday

Who's not enjoying this beautiful, sunny day?  Too bad we had to have such a nasty storm to cool things off.  George brought in a couple of zucchini that seemed to grow over night.  Will have to do something with them for dinner today.  No tomatoes, have to send him back out to the garden.

Back to cleaning up the sewing room and getting some UFOs ready to work on.  Only have 1 quilt that has a dead line right now and I want to get it done for Christmas, lets see how long I procrastinate before I start working on it again.  LOL

Thursday, August 2, 2012

These are just a few of my ufos, three tops from round robins that need backings, bindings and quilting, blocks from  swaps, block of the month and challenges, all to be made into tops that will then need backings, bindings and quilting.  Do I need help, you darn right!!!!

I'll be darned if I'm going to count it all and no fair peeking at the kits I've got stashed away and well hidden......

My messy sewing room

This and that

Got a good house blessing done today, so tomorrow I will work on my newest project.  Need to finish this by next weekend, so have to keep at it.  I've made 6 1/2" 4 patch blocks out of flannel from my stash.  I have a panel for one side and will use the flannel blocks for the other side.  It is looking good.

I'm still taking the muscle relaxing meds, my back feels good when I'm on the meds.  Have to call Delnor for and apt. with radiology for xrays of my neck and upper back.

I made a chicken/pasta casserole for the kids this afternoon, didn't keep any of it.  George decided we were going out and I don't argue with that suggestion.  We went down to Aurora to the Casino, lost our allotted amount but had a nice dinner at the buffet.

So now it's time to chill, play on the computer or do some had sewing.

A yummy day.

Had a busy day with Emmie and Katie.  Got Katie's school supplies and some new running shorts and tops.  We also got a new kitchen toy, a pie maker.  Picked William up at home and came to my house to play with our new stuff.  Getting those school supplies and sorting through them is better than Christmas.  Then we played with the pie maker and made chicken pot pies for lunch, steamed chicken breasts in broth, made a thin white sauce, added the cooked chicken (glad I made an extra chicken breast for the kids to nibble on) and sweet peas to the sauce.  We made the crusts out out of a tube of crescent roll dough, cut out and put the bottom crust into the pie maker, put 1/2 c. filling in the bottom crust and put the top crust on each of the pies (makes 4 at a time) closed the lid and baked for 10 min.  William and I each ate 1 and Katie and Emmie ate 2, we had to make a 2nd batch.  Then we peel-ed peaches, sauteed the slices in butter, added sugar, lemon juice and corn starch and cooked til peaches were done.  We used regular pie dough and made little pies.  The kids took 5 home and left 3 for me and grandpa.

It's so nice to have a grand kid that can drive, she took a couple of items back to the store to exchange for different size.  Target has a wonderful return  policy, love that.

No sewing but a busy, fun day and Emmie is such a great cleaner upper.  Thanks sweetie.

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Had a quiet 4th, George drove in the Elgin parade and I stayed home in the nice ac.  Did oven fried chicken, zucchini and pasta salad for dinner.  I did some hand embroidery while we watched TV.  Watched "The Capital 4th" show, it was awesome and very patriotic.  Love that on the 4th.

Today George is home so we're going to vacuum and dust, he drives the vacuum and I swifter tables, shelves, knick knacks, etc.  The house has been closed up for too many days we really need some fresh air in here but not til it cools down.

I haven't honed in on another project yet, I have the backing and binding done on the Asian quilt so it is ready to be quilted.  I need to contact Edith and see when I can get it to her, she's the bestist la quilter in the world.  Well in my world.  I wish I could quilt it myself but I can't wrestle quilts on the sewing machine anymore.

Katie's 13th birthday cupcakes

The girls called this morning and wanted to know if they could come over and bake cupcakes and decorate them for Katie to take to running tonight to share with some of her running friends. I told them they could come over and we went shopping for cake mix, small marshmallows and colored sugar.  The photos below are the end results of the design Emily came up with and they spent the whole day starting with naked cupcakes, butter frosted cupcakes, making the marshmallow petals and applying to the frosted cupcakes.  William, 10 yrs. old, helped grandma figure out why  I wasn't able to download photos anymore.  Had em downloaded in less than 10 min. and I've been working for days to try and figure it out.  Oh to be 10 again.  fun day even though grandma started out a wee bit crabby.  Sorry kids, that's what too high or too low blood sugar will do to a person.  (((big hugs))).

Cool Friday morning

I am having a very frustrating morning, took two photos this morning and can't get them to download from the camera to the computer.  Arghhh!!!  I just may have dropped the camera one time too many.  I'll keep trying in a little bit.  I took a picture of the Robin's nest that has been built on the heat vent outside the garage heater, think we'll have babies in a week or 2.  I also took a picture of the Easter Lily that's blooming just outside our bedroom window and the aroma that drifts in through the window is lovely.   Don't you just love the simple joys in life.

Saturday, June 9, 2012

The pipe is buried and now we're putting the sod over the trench and he didn't have a heart attack.  That's a good thing.  Tomorrow he's going to work on the barn overhang, etc.  He's swapping out the wooden trim for "a no maintenance" wood like material.  The trench is about 18' and deep enough for that  black pipe on the lower right corner.

Saturday, May 12, 2012

A brr Sat.

and I'm pretty sure I solved the latest issue with the Asian quilt.  Don't know why I keep running into these road bumps with this quilt but I shall persist and persevere!!!

Yesterday we had such a wonderful morning at St. Peters.  It was grandparents day and George and I and Terry and Lou went to the mass at 8:30.  It was a very moving experience, William and Katie were so happy to see us.  That does warm your heart.  The kindergartner kids, 1st graders and 2nd graders each sang a song for us, telling us how important we are in their lives there wasn't a dry eye in the grandparents section.  Very heart warming.  We went to the gym afterwards for coffee and donuts and to socialize with the other grandparents, then we went to the grand kids classrooms.  William's teacher showed a special project he did, sent and attachment to her computer and she put it up on the "white board".  We were so proud of him.  Then we went to Katie's class room where we were assigned the task of helping her with a spelling quiz.  I made a notation on the words I had her change so the teacher wouldn't blame her if they were wrong?  Katie gave me one of her awesome smiles.  She is such a beautiful girl, inside and out.  Then we had a math problem, thanks to quilting I was able to show her how to connect the dots without taking the pencil off the paper by drawing a quarter sq. triangle block.  The second problem was moving 2 of 4 sticks to reverse an object.  Now who in quilting has never done that.  I think we passed.  LOL  All in all a very memorable, beautiful day.

Wish this forgetful grandma had remembered her camera.  Yack!!!!!

Never too old to learn something new

and I did today.  George had a tooth extracted and the instructions from the Oral Surgeon included putting a wet tea bag wrapped in wet gauze on the surgery area to stop or slow down the bleeding and it worked.  Who knew????  He's feeling pretty good, why not Tylenol with Codeine real happy dance stuff.  Well maybe not it's happy sleepy time stuff but it does kick the heck out of the pain.

George wants to go over to Terry's to work tomorrow, we'll see.  I want to sew, sew and sew some more.  Did get my fan pieces removed and the other color reapplied it looks so much better, glad I took the time to do it. Now to get the top assembled.  We'll see if I get that done after exercise haven't been there since last Wed.

That's it for today, now we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Good news

Dermatologist said the lab report came back and no cancer in the surrounding tissue.  So on to the next challenge life has for  me.  I'm actually enjoying my exercise sessions, I go 3 times a week and I can already feel a difference in my leg strength of course I've got a long way to go.

The red work project I'm trying to get going on just isn't working out for me.  I'm having trouble getting nice stitches to lay right so I'm going to try and see what Perle cotton looks like on it.  Trial and error until I feel good with the way the panel looks.

That's all that is going on around here, looks like we are going to have a frost tonight so the lilacs will probably be gone tomorrow.  They were so pretty this year.

Sample of the ones I made for the swap.

My hot pads from JQ swap

Here are the hot pads I got from a swap I was in, they are too pretty to use but I won't let that stop me.  The one in the center is actually a pocket from a pair of blue jeans.  What a clever idea and the unusual owl and cupcake.  They all are so pretty.  The top center one will make a nice hot pad under a casserol too.

Saturday, April 14, 2012

Had a busy

Friday the 13th, went to the skin Dr. and he tried to remove the patch of skin cancer on my right cheek again.  Has tried to freeze it and tried to remove it when they did the biopsy but it would not be gone so they did a surgical procedure and I have 7 stitches in my cheek.  Hope it comes back clean, will know next week.

Then we went to Katie's school play, she was a "towns person" and a "dancing dish".  It was a very modified "Beauty and the Beast" but a fun night.  The kids all did an awesome job, it even kept grandpa awake.  LOL

Today I spent finishing up our taxes and printing them out to be mailed Mon. with a check. .....sigh.....

Tomorrow will be a sewing day or else it ain't gonna be pretty around here.  I haven't sewn a stitch since lunch bunch on Wed. and am having a real nasty case of withdrawal.

Well it's jammie time around here,  hope I can stay awake until bed time.  TTYL

Monday, April 2, 2012

Ok I'm doin it

I joined a fitness center today.  No I haven't lost whatever mind I had left, we found out our supplemental health insurance will pay for us to exercise.  They have a program called silversneakers and will pay for our membership. Tomorrow after I go to the foot Dr. I'm going to the fitness center and learn how not to fall off the equipment and run the things.  I just need to stay committed.

I'm having fun doing machine applique fan blocks using invisible thread, it's like a nylon thread so I hope it holds up.  Just to be on the safe side I'm going to quilt on the fans.  Now I need to make some of the arcs for the bottom of the fans and attach the sashings.

Saturday, March 31, 2012

Took a photo of the hot pads I had leftover from the 14 I made for a swap.  These didn't turn out so good so they are now mine.  I'll be getting 8 back from the swap so should have a very nice supply of hot pads for a while.  Til I burn em up.

I also made 4 loaves of banana  bread and a 10 x 15 jelly roll pan of frosted brownies that grand pa took over for the grand kids to enjoy.  These brownies are too sweet and rich for us, 1 1/2 c. sugar and a whole can of Hershey's chocolate sauce............I get a sugar high just reading the recipe.  LOL

Now I'm going to work on my Asian blocks.  I'm doing the embroidery by machine using invisible thread.  This is the first time I've used this thread hope it holds up as well as a good cotton thread.  I may quilt inside the fans just to make sure.  This thread feels like a nylon thread and sometimes it does unravel when used for hems in clothes.
