Took a photo of the hot pads I had leftover from the 14 I made for a swap.  These didn't turn out so good so they are now mine.  I'll be getting 8 back from the swap so should have a very nice supply of hot pads for a while.  Til I burn em up.

I also made 4 loaves of banana  bread and a 10 x 15 jelly roll pan of frosted brownies that grand pa took over for the grand kids to enjoy.  These brownies are too sweet and rich for us, 1 1/2 c. sugar and a whole can of Hershey's chocolate sauce............I get a sugar high just reading the recipe.  LOL

Now I'm going to work on my Asian blocks.  I'm doing the embroidery by machine using invisible thread.  This is the first time I've used this thread hope it holds up as well as a good cotton thread.  I may quilt inside the fans just to make sure.  This thread feels like a nylon thread and sometimes it does unravel when used for hems in clothes.

Beautiful, busy Friday

Got the house dusted and most of it vacuumed.  I had to quit vacuuming when I caught a strap from one of the kid's running parachutes Mike brought over for me to fix.  That's a thing they wear on their backs that balloons out and creates resistance when they run, like running 10 mi. isn't enough.

I think I'm going to sue Mitt Romney for harassment.  6 to 8 calls a day from his people and if you hang up the damn machine dials you back.  That stinks!!!!!

Later this afternoon I was starting dinner and smelled a very sweet aroma, looked out the back door and the grandma Hyacinth I got over 16 yrs. ago when Missy Em was a wee babe for Mother's Day was blooming for all it's worth.  So very pretty, I love their smell.

Well it's time to go get my jammies on and sit and just chill out and watch some basketball and American pickers.  George is sleeping so I can watch more pickers than basketball.  LOL

Have been busy the past few days.  Yesterday got my fabric picked out for my Sat. Sampler BOM project.  I have all the blocks made and now need to design and make the filler blocks to make this a King Size quilt.

A jonquil is blooming in the back along side the house.  I just can't believe that spring is here already.  Hope it continues but George is leaving the snow blower attached to the tractor just in case.  The maple tree outside my sewing room window doesn't look like it's starting to bud yet.

Today George had an early delivery job with the county and got home about 11 am so we went out to run errands and just take a ride around and enjoy this glorious day.  It was so relaxing, then we went out for a late lunch, early dinner.  So now I'm going to finish this blog and go sit in the sun room and finish the bindings on the last 3 hot pads.  And call that project done!!!!

Where did my day go?

I had company again today, Miss Kate was here and still trying to get rid of the nasties she's been suffering with.  She slept this morning, did her homework, had lunch and slept some more.  I spent the day working on the Asian fans I'm making to add to the panel.  I'm trying to decide what the next rows will be, lanterns or maybe just another row of fans.  I really like how they are turning out.

Made a chicken casserole for us and for the kids, ds just called and thanked me.  He worked late and it was so nice to come home and have dinner done.  It's nice to know they appreciate it.

We talked about some things we have here that he and Robin would like for there house.  He said he talked to his sis Kathy and she said she didn't want the stuff or have room for it in her little house.  Dh has the potbelly stove out in the barn that belonged to my great grandfather and Mike would like it for his basement.  I also have a really big wheel spinning wheel up in the attic and he wants that too.  Kathy doesn't have room for that either.   We also have a really heavy safe in the basement he wants, plus a very old pool table that weighs a ton.  They are still young enough to enjoy it, I know we did all the years we've had it.  George bought the pool table when they closed the Sacred Heart Seminary, we've had it since the 80's so who knows how old it is.  I'm just glad the kids want the stuff.  It'll be fun to see somebody using and enjoying it all.

Busy

accomplishing nothing.  I don't know where the time goes but I have started my Asian quilt and found out I need to get a baby quilt done by Sept.  I know, I know new projects when I have so many ufos.  I think I'm going to go through them one more time and see what I really want to keep.

We didn't have lunch bunch today but I had company, I picked Katie up at 10 o'clock from school.  She wasn't feeling good and had a headache.  I think it's that darn cold she has, so she came home with me and laid on the couch under grandpas quilt and slept for about 4 hrs.  Her headache was gone when she woke up, then I had to take her to the foot Dr. at 3:15 met her dad there.  She came back home with me after the Dr. and laid on the couch some more.  I made a BIG pot of chicken soup with egg dumplings for all of us for dinner. Kept a small pot for us and sent the rest home with Katie.  I also made their favorite salad, pineapple chunks and sliced bananas with a dressing of Hellman's, honey and a bit of the pineapple juice.  Told ddil I'd make a chicken casserole with the rest of the chicken breasts I cooked up for the soup.
